Started off the day trying to help a LS member who has been having a very tough time acclimating himself to both the game and a lot of concepts in general. Another LS member started to head over to join his party and I changed to SCH11 so that we could participate in the place everyone loves to hate: the dunes. However, upon my arrival and party invite I noticed he had already filled the party, despite the other LS member still having not arrived. I dropped out so that she could join and found myself way out in the dunes needing to run anywhere if I wanted to do anything else. So I tossed up my party flag and figured if someone grabbed me before I got out of there then I’ll stay and level. Oh, how I should’ve ran off quietly.
Within a minute I had an invite but it took over four hours to accumulate enough experience for one level’s worth. One level. On the bright side I never died, but I did get to watch almost every other member of our party do so despite having a PL there the entire time. Yes, even with a PL there with us we were subjected to constant deaths and so much wasted time doing nothing. I was honestly a little angry at the party for having wasted my time so, but it did get me to sweep, vacuum, and dust the first two floors of my house while I waited for them to finally do something.
After that failure I ran off to finally get something worthwhile done and hopped back on SMN. I announced I was going Yag Necklace hunting and had a fellow LS member say she needed that and was going to run over. Within five minutes of having changed my job and still not gotten to Giddeus I recieved a party invite and took that instead. I thought I told my LS I wasn’t going out to Yagudo land anymore but I apparently failed (I swear the rest of the day must’ve rubbed off on me) and then felt really bad because she had only been going over there to help me. I still need to think of a way to make that up, I feel like kind of a dick for ditching her like that.
On a more positive note, that turned into my first trip into Crawler’s Nest and we had a good, solid party that moved nicely. We weren’t pulling in as much experience as would’ve been nice but I’m always a fan of progress as long as the wheels are turning, so I was happy to finally pull up to SMN38. Three more levels and I can start thinking about getting myself a nice, awesome SMN-only staff.
